Become a Teacher After College

Posted on Tuesday, October 07, 2025

You Have a Degree—Now You Want to Make a Difference

If you’ve recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in a non-education field and are now thinking, “I want to teach”—you’re not alone.

Many college grads discover their passion for education after completing their degree. The good news is, you don’t need to go back for another bachelor’s. You can become a teacher quickly, with the right program.

At 91制片厂, the Master in Teaching (MIT) program is designed specifically for people like you—those who have a degree, but not in education, and want to earn a teaching license in Washington State while also getting a master’s degree.

Can You Really Become a Teacher with a Non-Education Degree?

Absolutely. If you already have a bachelor’s degree—even in something like psychology, history, biology, or business—you can apply to a Master in Teaching program and earn both your teaching license and a graduate degree in one streamlined pathway.

At 91制片厂, students complete their MIT program in just 10 months (or 16 months if you choose to add SPED or ELL endorsement). By this time next year, you could be teaching in your own classroom.

Why Teaching Might Be the Right Next Step

Whether you realized late in college or just after graduation that you want to teach, there are plenty of good reasons to consider this career path:

  • Purpose-Driven Work: Teaching changes lives (including yours)
  • High Job Demand: Schools need passionate, licensed educators
  • Job Stability & Growth: Education offers long-term opportunity
  • Your Degree Still Counts: Subject-area knowledge is an asset
  • You Can Start Quickly: With a fast-track program, you won’t lose momentum

Is the Master in Teaching Program Right for You?

Here are a few questions you might be asking:

  • How do I become a teacher after college?
  • Can I teach with a degree that’s not in education?
  • What’s the fastest way to earn a teaching license in Washington?

We’ve designed this pathway to help recent graduates like you step confidently into the classroom—fully licensed, fully prepared, and fully supported.
